A whole-of-organisation approach to cultural competence (#170)
A whole-of-organisation approach to cultural competence is a way to address disadvantage by improving service delivery to clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It is a useful and systematic approach that can be used to identify barriers and enablers, across all aspects of an organisation or program, to providing relevant services and responding to the needs of diverse populations.
This presentation will define cultural competence, provide an overview of a cultural competence framework that can be applied to organisations and will provide practical examples and case studies from organisations that have worked to improve their cultural competence.
